Kelsey O'Sullivan had been burned once. She wasn't going to let it happen again. One marriage behind her, Kelsey realized her biological clock was ticking so while she certainly did not want a husband, she did want a child. She could afford it. Besides it was only another business deal.

Nick Leonetti always put family first. His values were high. It had always been family before business even at the expense of being fired. So when he heard about a job that would enable him to move his family out of Hell's Kitchen, he applied right away. He never expected to apply for a job to buy his love.

Hestand has once again grabbed the reader's attention and not let it go until the last page is turned. An unusual tale, NICK'S BABY tells of a woman wanting for nothing desperately wanting a child mixed with a man needing everything who doesn't want anything but his family. As Nick begins to realize his folly, he goes out to set things right once again. Can he prove his love to Kelsey before his child is born? And more to the point, will Kelsey realize that money can't buy everything? —Reviewed by Brenda Ramsbacher

Hot dogs and caviar can mix -- Very highly recommended

After a note mistakenly arrives at his table, Nick Leonetti applies for a job, not knowing the unorthodox nature of the position. Kelsey O'Sullivan, a woman with the voice of a goddess, needs a sperm donor. She does not intend to pursue motherhood through traditional means, but to scientifically achieve her goal. Although her note went astray, she knows from the moment of introduction that Nick is just the man to fill her needs.

Nick has held a number of unorthodox jobs, but this offer is the most outrageous job of all. With a zoning ordinance about to displace his mother and siblings, Nick needs to earn the money to move them quickly. He prefers to pursue fatherhood, however, through more traditional means. And although he has hid doubts that hot dogs and caviar can coexist, Kelsey makes him want to find out. Too bad Kelsey wants a baby but not a man.

Rita Hestand pens a lively romance where opposites attract in NICKY'S BABY. Kelsey's determination to have a baby without a father quickly derails with Nicky's appearance, yet she deliberately refuses to engage in a traditional relationship. Nicky cannot ignore the fact that the high society Miss just does not belong in Hell's Kitchen. Indeed, her constant habit of correcting his language only underscores the tremendous differences between them and adds amusing notes to the narrative. While opposites attracting is staple of romantic fiction, Hestand's amusing narrative provides a delightful read that comes very highly recommended.

Review:

I'm a newcomer to the "Rita Hestand" style of romance writing, but after reading "Nick's Baby", I'm hooked, and I'm sure you will be too!

This ebook is an offbeat romance starring Nick Leonetti, Kelsey O'Sullivan, and a grab bag full of supportive characters. Leonetti is a tough-skinned construction worker. With his muscular build and scarred face, Leonetti could easily be mistaken for a New York hooligan. Instead, he's a dedicated family man who's searching for a way out of Hell's Kitchen...

O'Sullivan owns a successful company, and thick glasses and boring business suits add to her staunch, controlling manner. She has everything that money could buy - everything she could possibly want - except... Nick's baby.

Let Rita Hestand reel YOU into her passionate world of intrigue, where Nick and Kelsey go head - to - head, and maybe even heart to - heart, as they follow their dreams.

A reader from....EBOOK PALACE

Nick Leonetti has worked at many different jobs, trying to save enough money to move his family out of Hell’s Kitchen. The landlord is forcing them out, and Nick has promised his mother a house of her own. When he receives an anonymous note about a job at a construction company, he goes to an interview the very next day…only to learn that the job has nothing to do with construction at all.

Kelsey O’Sullivan, Chairman of the Board, desperately wants to be a mother – but she’s had more than her fill of men and marriage. What she wants is no-frills, no-ties, no-commitment donor. Nick is the perfect man to be a father…but his upbringing is strongly family oriented and the thought of fathering a child he’ll never see turns his stomach. Still, the money Kelsey is offering would solve all of his family’s problems.

Can Hell’s Kitchen and Park Avenue find a common ground?

Smoothly humorous and endearingly romantic, Nick’s Baby is a charming contemporary romance. Rita Hestand has written an urban story of love and renewal, of people growing within their own lives and learning from their mistakes. The relationship between Nick and Kelsey alternates between sweet and sensual, combining the best of each. Nick’s family is sensational with their charming mannerisms, and the story moves quickly.

Exploring family ties and developing devotion, this is a book to warm the heart and cause a sigh. A first-rate story of warm families and sparkling romance – I highly recommend Nick’s Baby!

Stong central characters who each have their quirks lead the reader into a fun, fast paced read. Don't expect a lot of twists, Ms. Hestand writes excellent character based romances. Nick is a charming manipulator and Kelsey is strong-willed and used to getting exactly what she wants.

While the premise for the story is fast becoming a clichéd story line, Ms. Hestand follows through with a satisfying love story. Nick and Kelsey are both determined to run the show by their rules, but only one can truly get exactly what they want, right? You have to read it to find out!

Kelsey O'Sullivan was CEO of a multimillion dollar sheet metal company and she wasn't happy. All Kelsey wanted was to be was a woman in the fullest sense and a mother. She had had a very unhappy marriage to Ralph Butterfield and she didn't want another. After finding Ralph in bed with his secretary, Kelsey discovered she was pregnant. She moved her part of the business from Texas to New York, telling no one about her pregnancy. The baby was born dead in her seventh month. Now Kelsey was looking for a sperm donor so she could have another baby.

Nick Leonetti was celebrating his mother's birthday at L'Allegria when he was handed a note about a job. Since Nick was always looking for a job because he put his family first, he kept the appointment. After Kelsey explained to him what she wanted, Nick thought she was crazy. He knew that he could use the money because he was going to have to move his family out of Hell's Kitchen and he had been looking for a house. Nick didn't know how much money Kelsey was offering; he just knew that he couldn't do what she suggested. Their landlord made him change his mind when he turned off the electricity and then tore all of the appliances out of the kitchen, claiming he was doing some remodeling.

Kelsey sent Nick a check for $100,000.00 thanked him and told him she thought it best if they didn't have contact with each other. Neither one considered the fact that Kelsey would not get pregnant. When she was told to try the natural way, she went to see Nick. Nick, thinking he could get her out of his system, made love to her in his garage on the back-seat of a '57 Chevy. Nick fell in love and Kelsey became pregnant which gave them a whole new set of problems.

NICK'S BABY is not like any other romance about artificial insemination. Kelsey and Nick's characters are wonderful and lovable. The plot is full of twists with a little bit of a surprise toward the end. The secondary characters are well developed and only add to the plot line. I really like this book because it was serious in some places and had me laughing in others.

Mixing social classes and ethnic backgrounds with passion is successfully done in NICK'S BABY.

Meet Kelsey O'Sullivan, a blue-blooded Irish-American who wants a baby so badly she hires a sperm donor. This donor is none other than Nick Leonetti, an Italian-American hunk with a sense of familial responsibility so strong he can't be just a donor, and won't abandon Kelsey and his baby.

Although they couldn't be more opposite in backgrounds, their present situation and desires bring them together in many ways. But neither is good at voicing his or her feelings to the other, which leads to many obstacles.

Consequently, if love is to thrive between them, and for the sake of their baby, drastic measures must be taken. Nick's unique plan of action rocks Kelsey's ideas of motherhood without a partner.

Read NICK'S BABY to see how they survive this highly unusual roller-coaster romance.

Nick Leonetti, handsome, virile, black wavy hair, olive skin, dark dark eyes, is the epitome of Latin Lover. He loves his family above everything, and is a pushover for a hard-luck story. Consequently, Nick's penchant for dropping everything to take care of his mother, and younger brother and sister, has caused him to change jobs frequently. He really wants to move them from Hell's Kitchen to Queens, but he needs more money to do that. So he responds to the card slipped to him the restaurant last night hoping to find a second job. Working for a fabricating company seems right to him, and he applies for the job.

Kelsy O'Sullivan, however, has a different job entirely from that of metal worker. She has a hard time telling Nick exactly what it is, but finally gets out that she wants his sperm, please, for which she will gladly pay him. Nick thinks she's a nut-case and promptly says no. Besides, he fully intends to take care of any child of his, thank-you-very-much, even if he is only a blue-collar worker. The more he says no, the more Kelsey wants to have Nick's baby, no one else will do. He has all the characteristics that she wants in her child. Still saying no, Nick leaves, thinking about the Goody-Two-Shoes, uptight, golden-haired business woman with the sexiest voice he's ever heard. He even discusses it with his co-workers, who say it's only a scientific procedure, he won't even see her, take the money and run.

Kelsey is delighted when Nick returns the next day, and reluctantly says he'll do it. She rejoices that she'll have a baby to take place of the daughter she lost at seven months, leaving a big hole in her life. She's divorced her cold husband, soon to be ex-partner, and despite her aversion to marriage and men in general, she admires Nick for his sterling qualities, not to mention his to-die-for body. Thinking they'll never see each other again, regretfully, Nick produces the required product and leaves, still worried about what he's doing. A month later Nick is surprised to see Kelsy at his body shop. Now there was no guarantee that Kelsey would get pregnant, only that she would be - exposed. She wants either a refund of the check for $100,000 (which Nick has no intention of cashing), or more of what didn't work the first time. Tempers are lost, chemistry and sexual desire runs rampant, and Kelsey gets her way. So does Nick in a night of wonderful passionate loving in the back of a classic '57 Chevy. Kelsey is ecstatic six weeks later when she starts having morning sickness (not so happy with that) and begins to think the old fashioned way really works.

Nick, about that time, decides to check to see if Kelsey has conceived and goes to her apartment. Yep, she's pregnant, and throws up to prove it. That triggers all Nick's protective instincts, and he vows to himself to be part of the whole process. Besides he can't forget the best loving in his life, and Kelsey really needs him, even if she won't admit it. He begins his crusade and she doesn't know how to stop him. Or if she really does want to stop it. She's never felt so safe and secure in her life...If he only loved her.

This is a charming, wonderful story of two people from opposite sides of the financial pages who--. Well, read NICK'S BABY and find out for yourself. I really liked Rita's book and recommend it. I'm looking forward to her next romance.

Ms. Hestand does an excellent job creating strong characters and a strong, emotionally charged story. This book is recommended for any reader that loves contemporary romance with a twist.

Nick Leonetti was celebrating his mother’s birthday with his family at the L’Allegria’s Restaurant when a note about a job was delivered to him through their waiter. As Nick is desperate to get his mother, brother and sister moved out of Hell’s Kitchen, he’s willing to take a second job. He finds himself dressing up, including wearing a tie, to apply for a job in construction. After arriving for an interview for a construction job, he finds out that the note that he had received was meant for a colleague and the job the note referred to had absolutely nothing to do with construction. Kelsey O’Sullivan wants a baby and she needs a sperm donor to obtain her goal of motherhood. She’s approaching this as a job for the man who’s willing to donate his ‘little soldiers’ for the task.

Nick can’t figure out if Kelsey is crazy or just very desperate. There’s no way he’s going to go along with her plan. Babies should come about because of love, not in the warped way Kelsey’s going about it. Nick feels bad for this obviously desperate woman, but he’s not about to turn his back on a baby of his, even if it is created in a clinic. Nick needs the income this job could offer; he needs to get his family out of Hell’s Kitchen before the zoning wars get much worse. Will he sacrifice his sense of values and donate the sperm Kelsey needs in order to get his mom and siblings moved somewhere safe? His own dad walked out on them all leaving Nick to support the family. Could he live with himself, knowing that his own baby would never know him? Would that make him just like his father?

Nick’s Baby is a wonderful feel good story. At first, Kelsey’s desperate need to be a mother seems to be nothing more than a wealthy woman’s selfish attempts at having it all, but there’s something so honest and loving about her you can tell that there’s so much more to her story. Nick is tremendously family-oriented, and yet at the same time he’s very much a sexy, tough Italian man. He’s not afraid to stand up for what he believes in. His devotion to family and friends makes him extremely endearing. Rita Hestand writes Nick and Kelsey’s story in such a way that you can feel the tension between them and you are able to understand their inner turmoil over the baby issue.
